We had a great first week together in Room 119! Here are some quick highlights!
We celebrated a birthday by singing in English and Polish.
(Singing Sto Lat in Polish is one of Mrs. Doran's traditions she shares with us.)
Mrs. Doran gave us each a small special friend that we can read with, teach, and take care of.
Thanks to the PTA, we have a Scholastic News Subscription and explored our first issue. There is also a link in our Google Classroom with additional videos and games.
For writing we wrote our first "Personal Narrative" or Small Moment. Now we will learn even more and grow in this writing unit.
We learned what mathematicians are and that math is all around us. We looked for evidence of math around our classroom and practiced subitizing (recognizing numbers quickly) with dice. We did this with one and then joined friends for some adding.
We've enjoyed learning more about the classroom and each other. Don't forget to join our Google Classroom if you haven't already and take a peek around for a lot of additional resources. Click HERE for a quick link on how to join our classroom. Your child's google sign in is the same as last year. Google information can also be found in Skyward.
