Did you know yesterday was Earth Day? Mrs. Doran made a video of some of the things we did and posted it on our Facebook Page. In case you didn't see it, you can click HERE or look below:
We talked about other important things you can do to keep the earth clean! We'd love to hear what you and your family are doing to help!
Coming home today (Tuesday) is information about our upcoming Field Trip to Greenmead Historical Park! The first grade teachers are really excited about this field trip! Please return the money as soon as possible and let Mrs. D. know if you'd like to be a chaperone. To learn more about where we're going, you can click HERE.
In case you forgot your money today, our class will be able to visit the book fair this Thursday. Feel free to send money in our Everyday Folder.
We are OUT of bandaids! If you have some extra around your house that you could send in, that would be wonderful!!
You may have noticed that we have been working on math minutes everyday. We are doing this in hopes to improve our math fluency. To help us, you can make sheets of math facts, use flashcards or apps that work on math facts on your iPod or iPad (click HERE to see Mrs. D's favorite apps). Students should be able to do more than 15 facts in a minute by now.
And finally, Mrs. Doran is REALLY excited for Screen Free Week which is taking place April 25-May 5th! She has had her kids turn off the screens Monday through Thursday which isn't easy but has resulted in more conversation, fun and laughter. Try it out! For all students who successfully complete the week without screens, Mrs. Doran will eat lunch with them and give them a special treat! To find out more about this National event, click HERE.
