Week 31 in Review

Greetings from Room 119 and a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter to those who celebrate! We had a nice four day week and sent out our Thoughtful Thursday project to Jaxson's Nana. You can see the project we made for her and their family by clicking HERE. If you know of someone who could use some love and encouragement, email Mrs. D. at lauradoran@wlcsd.org.

We did a great job on our math assessment this week! All grades are in Skyward and checklists were sent home (and most were returned- thank you). We also began our next unit which is all about shapes. We have had fun learning a lot of new vocabulary!
We finished El Deafo and enjoyed it very much! We love our reading time so much and asked Mrs. Doran to extend our reading time to 35 minutes to which she happily agreed!
We also have loved our writing time and meeting with our peer editors. We're really working on rereading and editing our work. We also are working on varying our sentence structure since, as a class, many need work with that right now.
Our rescheduled spring pictures were taken early in the day and we all looked great! They took pictures of all of us and will be sent home when they come in for your review and possible purchase. More to come on that later.
We've been having some difficulty this year taking care of things. Mrs. D. has noticed a lot of things getting damaged. We had a class meeting on the importance of reporting it if we see someone being destructive to property.

We had so much fun on our field trip to see "The Little Mermaid" which was a little different than the book we read and the familiar Disney movie that many of us had seen. Special thank you to the parents who were able to join us. Information on our last field trip will be coming home soon! Have a great week!
