Greetings from Room 119! This week's Thoughtful Thursday project went out to a Room 119 alum who recently lost his Great-Nana. His Nana reached out to us for the project for him just in time for Mother's Day. You can see the project that we made for him by clicking HERE.
Some of our read-aloud books this week were about Ramadan. We got to learn a bit about the holiday from them and from one of Mrs. D's former students who is helping out on her lunch time since she is fasting for the first time! Ramadan Mubarak to those who celebrate.
Our other read-aloud book continues to be Harriet the Spy. It's been a great book to help us learn how to treat others. As we are getting near the end of the year, some of us have been not thinking of others and have not been kind. This is something we are working on. Thank you for your help with this.
Our writing this week was very top-secret and you'll be able to see it on Sunday (AKA~ Mother's Day). We hope you enjoy our creations. Happy Mother's Day!
In math we had a great review and took our Unit 8 Assessment as well as our Unit 8 Cumulative Assessment. Mrs. D. forgot to bring the second test home with her this weekend to grade but hopes to get it home to you by Monday for review.
Congratulations to everyone who went without a screen for the week. We know it was tough but also really good for you in so many ways! Well done!
A very Happy Birthday to our friend, Ben, who turned the great 8 this weekend. We enjoyed celebrating with him! Sto Lat!
We ended the week with a special Mystery Reader. Sienna and Ryleigh were surprised when their dad came in to read to us (well... not that surprised since they looked out the window and saw him in the parking lot- Mrs. D. is going to have to remember to shut the blinds next week). We loved the book about their dog Roscoe!
Have a great week, everyone!
