Week 32 in Review

Greetings from Room 119! We had a great SCREEN FREE WEEK!! We all said we were participating so don't forgot to turn in those slips! We made a great list of things we could do without screens and we talked about how much fun we were having playing! Another thing that made this week great was lifting up someone in need.  Check out Vicki's Thoughtful Thursday project HERE. If you know of someone who could use a project, PLEASE email Mrs. Doran at lauradoran@wlcsd.org As of now she does not have someone for our next Thursday.

WOW! Did we spoil Mrs. Doran this week!  She was overwhelmed with the notes, flowers, food, treats, supplies (we were too) and gift cards! Thank you for being so supportive!
We are moving along in reading and inhaling books. It is SO amazing how much we have grown this year as readers! At this time 95% of us are at or above grade level which is OUTSTANDING! Mrs. D. stops homework in June but if you would like to keep getting books or have her print books for us to read over the summer, she'd be happy to do so so let her know!
Our writing was TOP SECRET this week so we won't tell you any more about it but you'll get to see it on Sunday. We hope you like what we worked on. In addition, we made some other treats for our first (and always) teachers~ our Marvelous Moms! Check it out HERE.
In math we worked on number puzzles and looking at the relationships of numbers on a hundreds grid.  They get bigger or smaller by ten going up and down and bigger or smaller by one going left to right.  We did great with these! We also will be taking an assessment next week on Unit 8.  One more Unit to go!  WOW!
In science we focused on liquids.  We learned about their different properties~ including the identifying property that all liquids take the shape of their containers.  We also explored and learned that the same amount of liquid can look different based on the container.  The larger the base, the shorter the level of water.
Greyson's Nana was our special Mystery Reader this week!  She is also a teacher and brought each of us a book to keep!! We were so excited.  She did a great job reading to us and we learned a lot about Rocks and Minerals!

Did you check out our Everyday Folders on Friday? We are so excited about Red Nose Day coming to Loon Lake! You can click HERE to get to a page where you can donate money to help children in Michigan!  PLEASE consider emailing it to friends and family and sharing it on your facebook and twitter accounts!

Have a great week!
