Greetings from Room 119! We had a short week with MLK day and the "ice day" but we still packed in a lot of learning. We did not have a Thoughtful Thursday project but hope to have more projects in the future. If you know of someone who could used some encouragement, please email Mrs. Doran at lauradoran@wlcsd.org.
We were excited to see that Mrs. D. got some new chairs for Room 119. They are perfect for reading. This week we started reading our own series books. We'll be reading a few books in a series to get to know the characters and formula of the series.
In writing we combined retellings with letter writing. We also have really been working on being editors of our own writing.
In math we learned how to use arrays to solve multiplication problems. We also enjoyed explorations where we practiced telling time with a memory game and explored shapes with templates and geo boards.
We ended the week with a special Mystery Reader. Katelyn's mom came in and read us a great book! We were excited to see her one more time before she has Katelyn's brother or sister. We wish them the best of luck as they grow their family SOON! :-D
If you'd like to be a Mystery Reader, please check out our Mystery Reader page on the blog and email Mrs. Doran with a date and time you'd like to come in!
Have a great week!
