Greetings from Room 119! This week's Thoughtful Thursday project went out to Isabella Noel. Check out this sweet baby's project by clicking HERE.
Reading, reading, reading. Mrs. D. has started testing us but it sure takes a long time. We have been enjoying books and talking about author's meaning as well. Keep reading with us at home! Remember RAZ kids has lots of "just right" books for us.
We love sharing our thinking and problem solving with each other. We really are cementing our learning when we talk about it and defend our ideas.
We also took iReady tests in reading and math this week. Some of us will need to finish up next week. iReady is a test that we take on the computer. Many of our class headphones are not working well. Please send in headphones if you have them.
We started learning about parts of a whole or fractions. We are learning that there can be many names for one fraction. Be sure to check out the math website for more information. The website and passwords are on the back of our purple folders.
These "Fine Nine" turned off screens for a week and found other things to do! To reward them for their hard work, they got a free recess and ice cream! Way to go (and our two friends who were absent Friday who also did it). We aren't sure we're ready to do what the Doran kids do... No screens Monday-Thursday but we did survive and ice cream is good.
You may have noticed we didn't cover writing this week and that's because we were working on a TOP SECRET project for our moms! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!
