Week 5 in Review

Greetings from Room 119! This week's Thoughtful Thursday project went out to a great boy who is a fierce fighter! You can check out Ziggy's project (and learn more about Xavier's Battle) HERE.  We had our first assembly this week. We learned all about bus safety with the help of Buster the Bus! After the assembly we practiced a bus evacuation. Ask us what we remember about bus safety and the "Danger Zone."

We got to visit the library for the first time this week! We loved checking out books! Remember that our library day is every Wednesday!

We continue to work on reading stamina while Mrs. Doran reads with us individually. We also took iReady. Some of us completed it but others are still working.

We've done a great job building our writing routines and are looking forward to starting a new unit next week! Room 119 has some awesome authors!

We had a fun week in math learning new math games to help us build our foundations for understanding math. We finished Unit 1 and took our assessment on Thursday. Scores are in Skyward and checklists and the test went home on Friday. Remember to sign BOTH the test and the checklist and return them on Monday for Doran Dollars!

Picture day was Friday! We had our smiles ready and were thrilled when they were able to take us before lunch! Yay! Mrs. D. said we were allowed to run and get dirty AFTER we smiled pretty.

Did you know that our Fun Run is coming up next Friday, October 5th! We are so excited that we already have some money that was collected! Don't forget to turn in your pledges! This directly impacts US and all the cool things the PTA does for us each year!

We did not have a Mystery Reader this week (we do hope more families will sign up soon) but we DID get a special visit from our new principal, Mrs. Kidder! We loved getting to know her a little more and listening to her read to us! We are lucky to have another great leader at LLE!
