Greetings from Room 119! This week's Thoughtful Thursday project went out to Mr. Ed. You can check out the project we made for him by clicking HERE. If you know of someone who could use some encouragement from some Sensational Second Graders, send an email to lauradoran@wlcsd.org.
In social studies this week, we reviewed producers and consumers and added goods and services to our vocabulary. Ask us what these things are and to give you some examples.
In math we reviewed material from Unit 6 and then took the Unit 6 test and the Unit 6 cumulative test. Most of us did very well. If there was an area where we did not do well, it just lets us know that it's a good place to practice.
This week we had a visit from a member of the moms from the Swingset Mamas and learned about Ability Awareness. You can see some of the songs we learned by clicking HERE.
Thank you to all who have donated to our Donor's Choose project to help replace the trays from earlier in the year and an organizational piece for free choice. Here are a couple pictures of us from free choice (yes- we alphabetize for fun sometimes). Also we are sad to say goodbye to our friend, Carter who is moving! We wish him all the best in his new school!
In reading this week we tried to be more aware of the strategies that we use when we read. Thinking about our thinking can be hard but it helps us deepen our understanding. We also enjoyed all the reading activities this week!
Read a favorite story to a friend.
Read a Biography
Flashlight Fridays!
We enjoyed the Wax Museum that was put on by the 5th graders. The 5th graders researched someone, dressed like them and shared parts of their story. We took notes and enjoyed learning from our friends. Before you know it, we'll be in 5th grade!
We finally got back to having a Mystery Reader! Leah's mom brought in some awesome books to read to us and did a great job! Thank you for reading to us!
