Variety Show Information: Please Read

 

Mrs. Doran’s Variety Show Act

 

The following is coming home in your Child's Everyday Folder today (Monday).  I wanted to post it on the blog to reference should the note become lost (or not make it home).  Since ALL students here next Thursday will perform for the school act, please read the first half of this note.

 

Practice:  First Graders will practice during the school day for our class act (yeah!).

 

Tickets:  Order forms due January 14^th

·         Parents please make sure to return your ticket order form.  Students in the show do not need a ticket; however they do need an adult present in the audience.

 

Costume:  The song we are performing is our class theme song (“What I am” by Will I am).  It is located on the top of our blog.

·         We decided today that we would wear black.  I am going to buy glow necklaces, etc for us to wear on stage.  If your child does not have black, wear some other dark color please.

 

Variety Show Daytime Presentation:  Thursday, January 17^th Loon Lake Gymnasium

^·          Please have your child wear black to school.  This is for students and their teachers only.  We kindly ask that families of performers view the show at the evening performance.

 

Your children are doing a great job learning the dance, I am so proud of them!

 

 

FOR THOSE THAT ARE PARTICPATING IN THE NIGHT PERFORMANCE PLEASE SEE BELOW:

Dress Rehearsal:  Wednesday, January 16^th Walled Lake Northern Auditorium 5:30 p.m.

·         They are in one hour increments in order of the show schedule; We are the 14^th act so will practice during the 5:30-6:30 p.m block.  Each act will rehearse one time and be able to leave directly after; you do not have to stay the entire hour block, but you may if you’d like. 

 

Variety Show Main Performance:  Thursday, January 17^th Walled Lake Northern Auditorium

·         Performers are to arrive by 6:00 p.m.* at Northern.  Students should be checked in by parents.  Students should wear their costume (black).  Parents, please keep your students’ coats. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. *

·         PARENTS and SIBLINGS ARE NOT permitted backstage with students.  Students should be completely dressed in costume. 

·         All performers will be seated with parent volunteers in the balcony and will watch the show until it is time for their performance.  They ARE NOT to sit with family members.  When they are done performing, they will be returned to the balcony with the student performers.

·         Student performers will be picked up after the show; please do not try to pick them up early.

·         For pick up we ask that one parent goes to the same location you checked your student in to start the checkout process.  The students will be lined up around that hallway and you will enter the side you checked in, walking around the hallway to find your student, and then continue walking and exit the opposite side of the auditorium.  We hope this will help things run more smoothly keeping things all moving in a one way direction.
