Greetings from Room 119. We had a short week because of the snow day on Monday. Please remember that we go outside as long as the windchill is above 0 degrees. Make sure we have warm clothing! Also a lot of us are forgetting snack every day. Please remember to pack us a healthy snack. Click HERE to see what snacks are safe.
We watched the Wizard of Oz movie and talked through the entire thing as we noticed so many differences from what we learned in the book. We voted after we watched the movie and the majority of us preferred the book. Mrs. D. is now reading us The Marvelous Land of Oz. Ask us about it!
We love having our "Math Moms" in to help us. Mrs. Doran taught us about "In and Out" Problems and "Fact Families" and then she has US teach it! We've done a great job explaining how to solve problems and almost everyone mastered the concepts in just one week!
In Readers' Workshop many of us are still working on fluency and it is important that we practice reading aloud every day. Others are working on writing summaries of what we read. We are all practicing this in our homework.
And you've probably heard by now that we are now sharing our classroom with others. We each have two meal worms and we also have a class set. We learned that all insects need four things. Ask us what those four things are (air, water, food and space).
