Just a quick reminder that Spring Picture Day is tomorrow. We will be having pictures at 10:20 right after our PE and Music times. You do not need to send in any money at this time to have your child photographed. If you prefer a certain pose for your child, please remember to return the note that was sent in last Friday's Everyday Folder.
Did you know that the School Board is currently looking into privatising our school busses? They will be talking about this issue at the next school board meeting (which is this Thursday at the ESC). You may want to check out what is happening.
The Bus Drivers and Paras are a wonderful addition to our school community and are also asking for your help in giving back to our community. On May 4th from 9am-3pm they will be in the Kroger's Parking Lots at Commerce/Union Lake, Haggerty/Pontiac Trail and Beck/Pontiac Trail as well as the Walled Lake School Employee Credit Union (9-12) collecting nonperishable items to donate to the Hospitality House which services our community and families in our schools.

And finally, did you know that over the next several weeks, the Michigan House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will be readying a bill package for passage with the stated goal of better funding road repairs. It's a top priority of the Governor, Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader. Sounds GREAT! But...
Do you know how they intend to pay for it?
They plan to pay for this by cutting the School Aid Fund by $800 million, which would result in another cut of more than $500 per pupil. The first part of the plan, House Bill 4572 is set to move later this week.
For your children and mine, PLEASE consider taking action now and telling your State Representative to oppose House Bills 4572, 4539 and ANY plan that cuts even a penny more from local schools.
It only takes a moment to send an email or leave a message. To find your Representative, click HERE.
To find your Senator, click HERE.
School Funding Cuts have already REALLY affected your (and my) children. We have larger class sizes across the district and valuable programs that really made a difference like Reading Recovery as well as our valuable school counselors were eliminated. Our Custodial Staff was privatized and now our school is looking at privatizing busses.
Please take action and feel free to share this information with neighbors, friends and others in the state. In the end, they are ALL of our children.
